What is Greyhound Village?

It is an all-new, top-quality, University-affiliated apartment community designed especially for UIndy students. Greyhound Village features spacious 1, 2, 3 and 4 bedroom furnished apartments, plus amenities such as a fitness center, and social clubhouse – right on campus.

Is Greyhound Village part of the University of Indianapolis?

Greyhound Village is located on the campus of the University of Indianapolis. It is privately owned and professionally managed, operating under an affiliation agreement with UIndy.

Who is eligible to live at Greyhound Village?

Greyhound Village is intended primarily for upper-division students, including juniors, seniors and graduate students. Additionally, those wishing to live at Greyhound Village must have completed four semesters of classes on campus OR be at least 20 years old by January 15.

What makes Greyhound Village different from other on-campus housing?

As compared with on-campus residence halls, residents at Greyhound Village have more living arrangement choices and greater independence: a meal plan is optional, and students can live in mixed-gender units if they desire.

Can I live with my friends, or is there a roommate matching option?

You can live with other students of your choosing, subject to availability. If you decide to apply on your own, we are able to match you with other students. Applicants answer a short list of lifestyle questions to help in the matching process.

How is payment made to live at Greyhound Village?

Residents are billed through their University of Indianapolis student accounts, on a billing cycle consistent with UIndy’s tuition and residence billings.

Will financial aid and scholarships cover costs of living at Greyhound Village?

Most types of scholarships, grants and loans (academic, athletic, etc.) may be used for rent at Greyhound Village. However, University policies for the awarding of financial aid apply including the maximum gift assistance that students may receive depending on the types of aid for which they are eligible. Students who receive scholarships, grants and tuition waivers in excess of tuition plus a standard allowance for books must contact the Office of Financial Aid for advising prior to signing a lease agreement.

What size are the apartments at Greyhound Village?

Residents may choose from a variety of spacious one to four bedroom apartments.

Are private bathrooms available?

Yes, apartments in Greyhound Village feature private bedroom-bathroom suites. Select 4-bedroom apartments feature bathrooms on the outside of the bedroom space.

Are the apartments furnished?

Yes, all apartments at Greyhound Village include a furniture package including a full-size extra-long bed, dresser, desk and chair in each bedroom, a leather-style sofa or loveseat and lounge chair, coffee table, plus either a dining table set or counter stools at a breakfast bar. Select units feature a dining table set.

What is included in the rate?

Each resident at Greyhound Village pays a flat rental installment (two payments per year) that includes:

  • Annual occupancy (approx. 11½ months)
  • Wi-Fi on the UIndy network
  • Cable TV
  • Water/sewer
  • Electricity allowance
  • Washer and dryer in each apartment
  • 24-hour on-site management
  • Community features —fitness center, game room, etc.

What kind of security is provided?

Greyhound Village has secure entry and the front reception desk is staffed at select times. The community is patrolled by UIndy’s campus police department.

When do the contracts start and end?

The standard term is August 15 to July 31, with payments made in two installments in August and December. Limited alternate dates may be available; please inquire with our staff.
